Happy Centennial!

100 years ago the 19th amendment to the American constitution guaranteeing women the right to vote was officially certified. Celebrate the anniversary month by printing this image onto pre-treated fabric with your ink jet printer.

It's a sketch for a non-directional repeat I did inspired by a magazine cover over a century ago showing women using yellow parasols to indicate their support for the amendment. I used another repeat for fabric you can buy at my Spoonflower shop.

  1. huzzah! votes for women! for all who fought the fight, we salute you!

  2. The more I learn about the 19th Amendment, the more I agree with Cokie Roberts -
"“No, no, no, no, no granting - no granting. We had the right to vote as American citizens. We didn't have to be granted it by some bunch of guys.” quoted from https://www.npr.org/2019/05/22/725610789/100-years-ago-this-week-house-passes-bill-advancing-19th-amendment

And it means that we can't be denied the vote because of our sex, but there are still plenty of ways to be denied the vote.

I've been gathering yellow/gold and some purples, and saved your Grandmother's Choice patterns, but getting the quilt started has not happened. Yet. But better to honor the Amendment by getting to the polls on time. Which I fully intend to as I have since I was of voting age. I *will* get this quilt made, and it *will* be finished long before the 125th anniversary of the amendment.

  3. JustGail- I love that quote from Cokie Roberts! I have not seen it before, thank you for that. I totally agree with her. Good luck with you quilt, it will surely be very special.
As I said before, I post anonymously because I don't have any of those things to give me an identity.

Am so happy to testify about a great spell caster that helped me when all hope was lost for me to unite with my ex-girlfriend that I love so much. I had a girlfriend that love me so much but something terrible happen to our relationship one afternoon when her friend that was always trying to get to me was trying to force me to make love to her just because she was been jealous of her friend that i was dating and on the scene my girlfriend just walk in and she thought we had something special doing together, i tried to explain things to her that her friend always do this whenever she is not with me and i always refuse her but i never told her because i did not want the both of them to be enemies to each other but she never believed me. She broke up with me and I tried times without numbers to make her believe me but she never believed me until one day i heard about the DR. EMU and I emailed him and he replied to me so kindly and helped me get back my lovely relationship that was already gone for two months.
