Sunbonnet Sue in Modern Times

The New Normal

Desperate times call for desperate measures
and I am resorting to the tried and true ridicule of Sunbonnet Sue
to make you laugh.

The old days

Trying to exercise
& keep dog entertained 6 feet from other dogs and humans.

But massive national weight gain probably the next epidemic.

To say nothing of loss of muscle tone.
Use it or lose it.

Being responsible citizens we are wearing masks now when we go out .

If you don't have a mask will a turtleneck do?

When venturing out must remember to wear actual clothing
rather than pajamas.

Being cooped up all day with domestic units can lead to weariness.

Patience more a virtue than ever.

  1. Hahahaha! I love this! The third one and Patty Boy and possibly the last one are from Eastern Pennsylvania. That's a pattern of sunbonnet I see frequently here. These "Liberty Belles" as I call them, usually have a cloche hat instead of a sunbonnet, have breasts, and are heavily embellished--not unlike what Cinda C. referred to when she said the PA Dutch would decorate anything that wasn't moving at 60 mph. If you look at "Sunday School Picnic" you will see the dolls all around the border as Jenny Trein must have had that pattern too. I have a few of them and one has the same embroidery patterns used as a quilt at the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center. You made my day. Thanks!

  8. Is that a knife in her hand. I used to own that quilt and believe me I looked long and hard at it. It may be a stick derived from the logo for Bon Ami cleaning agent.

  25. A GREAT SPELL CASTER (DR. EMU) THAT HELP ME BRING BACK MY EX GIRLFRIEND.
Am so happy to testify about a great spell caster that helped me when all hope was lost for me to unite with my ex-girlfriend that I love so much. I had a girlfriend that love me so much but something terrible happen to our relationship one afternoon when her friend that was always trying to get to me was trying to force me to make love to her just because she was been jealous of her friend that i was dating and on the scene my girlfriend just walk in and she thought we had something special doing together, i tried to explain things to her that her friend always do this whenever she is not with me and i always refuse her but i never told her because i did not want the both of them to be enemies to each other but she never believed me. She broke up with me and I tried times without numbers to make her believe me but she never believed me until one day i heard about the DR. EMU and I emailed him and he replied to me so kindly and helped me get back my lovely relationship that was already gone for two months.
