If you are anywhere near Kansas City this weekend you'd better pedal on over to my town Lawrence, Kansas, which used to be basketball central but is now quilt central (at least for the 2014 Final Four weekend.)

The Kaw Valley Quilt Guild is staging our Annual Show:
The show will be open:
Saturday, April 5 - 10 to 5
Sunday, April 6 – Noon to 5

$5 admission
We'll have dozens of our quilts on display, a charity auction of small quilts, a merchant's mall, demonstrations and a special exhibit by our featured quilter.
Roseanne Smith is the featured one. She specializes in
star quilts.
She'll also be doing a trunk show of her quilts, talking
about the efficient techniques she uses and what could possibly go wrong.
Talks are at 2:00 on Saturday and Sunday.

The KCMQG Showcase at The Star
An exhibit of 80 quilts made by KCMQG members will be up for the first part of the weekend. The free event is being held at The Kansas City Star Press Pavilion at 16th & Magee Streets in Kansas City, Missouri.

Almost makes me wish I were in KS instead of warm, sunny SC. I said "Almost!"
ReplyDeleteOh, this is very tempting...I'm just a little over two hours from Lawrence, and I could really use a weekend off. I wonder how badly I'd have to kill myself the rest of this week in order to be able to take at least Saturday off. Hmm...
