Unusual Wedding Ring Quilts

Traditional Double Wedding Ring style since about 1930
Pieced arc, white ogee shape, white oval and solid four patch

What with the Royal Wedding being the best news at the moment I thought I'd post some odd Double Wedding Ring quilts I've collected from online auctions, etc.

Here's one with the center ogee shape divided into quarters

Alternating colors

Here's a pattern for one with an extra four patch in the centers

A nice edge on a top.

....Sometimes things get confused

This one's really more a pickle dish.

....And sometimes overdone

An extra arc in the ogee

I always love what you post, the last quilter definitely loved pieced arcs:)

Wonderful examples of wedding rings. Love the blue shades, I am wanting to make something blue, so thinking of doing one room with blue.

Fun post...the crazier and more over-the-top wedding ring design the better!

Great post!
I think it shows very clearly that some of us quilters don't know when enough is enough.....that "extra arch" in the ogee....over the top!
clearly shows the difference between "it can be done" and "it's a good idea"

A blue background is quite unusual, I've found. After buying one recently, I searched the Quilt Index and found over 1000 records for Double Wedding Rings, but just 11 with blue background fabric. You can view mine at:

Well, there's certainly some unusual double wedding ring quilts there! I'm hand piecing one at the moment. It's in 1930's fabrics. I'm working on ring #19 of 20 (or maybe 25, haven't decided yet!).
