Happy Jubilee

Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating 60 years on the throne this week.

I remember watching the coronation on our new television.

I was hooked.

Someone found this pearlie memorial on Etsy.

The postage stamp has applique ideas.

Royals fans might make a quilt to celebrate the Jubilee year. But textiles with appropriate images are in short supply, although the British seem quite fond of celebratory tea towels. The one above was printed for the Silver Jubilee in 1977.

 A search of online auctions and stores finds many new tea towels.

I was hoping there would be an official panel--- sort of like the one printed in 1810 when George III celebrated fifty years on the throne. But all I can find is towels---which can be cut up.

 I digitally altered the George III panel.

 And then I started thinking about the corgis.

Well that's the trouble with links--they disappear.

My first draft---I'm going to have to add some applique to make it better centered, I think.
