Morris & Company Fabric is IN

The newest collection of William Morris reproduction prints from Moda is in a few shops already.

This line uses shades echoing the natural dyes that were so important to William Morris's vision.

And we also have some updated color schemes,
gray green with gray, shades of taupe for today's taste.

    Gorgeous! I will definitely add these fabrics, especially the blue to my wish list. They would be beautiful in my next applique. So many stunning fabrics - decisions, decisions. . .

    Having mission-style furniture in my home,I was very excited when I saw the quilt, Morris and Company and the beautiful fabrics. I've just completed about 10 of the fan blocks and thought other quilters need to know about the difference in the photos& directions versus the quilt photo on the front cover. The directions&photos show the fan block made with 5 prints and 4 background strips which you alternate starting with the print strip. The photo on the cover of the pattern shows the opposite:5 background/4 print strips. Being new to paper piecing, I didn't notice this until now...so intent on following the directions, etc. I think the cover design looks nicer, but I am not going to start over after doing 10 blocks. If you are making this quilt, be sure to check this out...wish I had noticed the difference sooner!

    Upon clicking on Susan Stiff's free pattern above in this blog, I see that the photos have been corrected for the front cover and inside to match the directions. I must have bought an earlier version of the quilt pattern before the corrections were made. On the central fan block where you put four blocks together and form a large sun-type design, I still plan to have matching print strips for those 8 strips that are butted together. The earlier cover version looks so much better. I wish I had caught the difference earlier so I could have adapted.
