I think what is most interesting about these kits is that the items they contained really haven't changed. Warfare has changed drastically, but whether a housewife from the 1800s or a sewing kit from 2011, they all hold buttons, thread and needles. Our basic needs do not change.Donna dihttp://heartlandquilts.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-289466493716180465.post-86843403265330925212011-07-24T12:08:49.049-05:002011-07-24T12:08:49.049-05:00What a lovely way to use those scraps of fabric. It's made of leather on the outside and an undetermined fabric on the inside. He later carried it out on the Ranch when herding cattle.Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11415448091632852616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-289466493716180465.post-82994043248449791062011-07-24T10:27:18.250-05:002011-07-24T10:27:18.250-05:00Oh boy. more inspiration! I have to say, even though I'm impressed with the 'completeness' of the modern military sewing kit, the Civil War era kits are much nicer to look at! :)Denise :)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07306906507013593208noreply@blogger.com
