AQSG Antique Vendors

19th-century chintz basket
AQSG's seminar is heaven for quilt and fabric lovers.
The vendors  go all out because they know the audience is (shall we brag) rather sophisticated.

Nancy Hahn has a booth full of fabric and small treasures.

Swatches of Turkey red

Gouache and swatch of French fabric from about 1855

She specializes in tools and has wonderful things.

Like these "linen marking pencils" with patent dates in the 1850s and '60s. You wet the pencil and it was indelible. She finds these things in Europe. And she will explain what they are and how they were used.

These are mid-19th-century precuts. The stripes were marketed in France as costume trim. But American women liked the stripes for sashing. I'm sashing an applique quilt right now and this is just what I need.

Four-inch wool log cabin blocks.

I'll highlight other dealers over the weekend. Wish you were here.

Love the antique fabrics and accessories, what fun to shop there. Hopefully we will get up north later in the fall and I can hit some antique stores.
