QUILT MARKET VIRTUAL BOOTH

It's Spring Quilt Market time in Salt Lake City. I will not be going but I always like to do a virtual booth while everyone else in the quilt bizz is working on actual booths.
IF I were going to quilt market, here's what the booth would look like. A blast from the hippy past.

I'd be going up in the attic to get out my patchwork clothing from the 1960s and 70s.
(I'm sure it will fit.)

Maxidresses and bellbottoms

So you might ask:
Wassup?

The reproduction fabric we are introducing at Market this week is called Old-Fashioned Calicoes. The prints reflect the florals from the age of the flower children. Some of you might say:

Wait a minute! I don't need any reproductions
of the fabric of the sixties. I've got a stash of leftovers.

Others will say:

Groovy!
Or to be more up-to-date:
Awesome!

I am digging through my old photos looking for pictures of clothing and quilts made from the prints of the era. More later!

Groovy! I can dig it. You are a way cool chick. Truly, this is great news to me. I'm always on the look out for these type of prints, and haven't found them in the stores. Perfect for us baby-boomers who still think we're the best generation yet.

I believe I can use some of those reproductions--to help finish my UFO's from back then! Please let me know which stores will be carrying them! ;)

Great line of fabrics. I have been buying these the last couple of years at flea markets and antique stores. I love these type fabrics in scrap quilts. Thanks for helping to bring more of them back to the market place.

That is so funny, I just unpacked a box that had been packed when we left Alaska 20 years ago, and yes, those prints were part of the aged stash. Memories

Love the mock display, what fun. If you check out my blog today, you can see, we must have lived in the same era;)

Wow - your virtual booth is *right on*. Truly, you summed up that era for us seamstresses and quilters perfectly! And those red and yellow calicoes.....gosh, how powerful they are in evoking that time period! Who would have thunk it? All of your photos are fab - thanks for the trip! Mary-Alice :)

I have an old pair of cotton bell bottoms that I just CAN'T throw away. I think they are a size 2.

I have no desire for Old-Fashioned Calicoes - the yellow and orange/reds are just plain ugly with the huge selection of beautiful fabrics that are available today!

You're VW bus is groovy. Glad you have your tie-dyed curtain in the back window. ;-)

Great fabrics, love the flying geese. They can keep the maxi dresses, but I would love some new bell bottoms, I remember having a pattern very similar.....size 2....oh yea thats gonna fit....LOL.

I still have the jeans that my sister helped me convert to bellbottoms using some calico on the sides!
