Chocolate Covered Cherries
Pattern from Edie McGinnis's book,
A Second Helping of "Desserts": More Sweet Quilts Using Precut Fabrics
Redrawn in Arnold's Attic from Moda
Coordinating fabric collections and books is always difficult because they have such different lead times.
Fabric is often way behind the books, so I can't write a book with my latest fabric line in it. By the time the book is published the fabric may be unavailable.
What to do? What to do?
Eureka!!!
While digitally doodling with the Electric Quilt program after loading pictures of Arnold's Attic prints into my color palette, I realized I could recolor patterns in the books that have recently been published.
My first thought was Edie McGinnis's 2010 book on using precut packages. For A Second Helping of "Desserts" she made quilts with my Civil War Homefront and Morris Workshop collections from last year.
Wild Gooseberry Pie by Edie McGinnis
using The Morris Workshop collection from Moda.
Here is a version of Wild Gooseberry Pie done in Arnold's Attic.
I got the proportions a bit wrong, but you get the idea
See my new sketch of Chocolate Covered Cherries above.
Use Edie's directions and patterns and substitute this summer's prints.
Notice I put the same border fabric on both my mockups. I love the "Ohio Autumn" leaf print. Here it is in brown.

That's a beautiful fabric for borders, I like the Wild Gooseberry that you redrew. Very nice in this palette.
I got a different program since i was using my mac, so it doesn't do as much, and I rarely use it. I tend to start throwing things together and see what happens, lol.

I know, the EQ and BlockBase are for PCs---wish things were more compatible.
I love being able to plan things out for patterns for classes and books---but I do enjoy making the ones where I "start throwing things together and see what happens."
